Ray Geide

Ray Geide is a Bible translator, author, former missionary, pastor, and lifelong student of Scripture. He is dedicated to making the New Testament accessible while staying true to its original Greek meaning.

He holds a BA in Theology and a MDiv with highest honors, specializing in New Testament Studies and Greek. Early on, inspired by a friend's frustration with outdated Bible language, Ray felt called to clarify the text for modern readers.

After serving as a missionary in Russia, pastoring churches, and teaching Scripture, he spent over three decades immersed in the Greek New Testament—praying daily for wisdom and discovering fresh renderings of key words and nuances.

This work led to the Breakthrough Version, a high-definition literal translation using contemporary words to reveal details often lost in traditional versions. Building on that, he created Today's Bible, a fresh, semi-literal, narrative-driven New Testament. It blends near-literal fidelity to the Greek with vivid, jargon-free phrasing and conversational storytelling—ideal for curious minds, young adults, skeptics, and anyone seeking the unfiltered message of Jesus.

His mission is to bridge scholarly depth with everyday clarity, helping readers encounter the New Testament as alive and relevant today.
