Cathy A. Archer

Cathy Archer was born on the island paradise of Freeport, Grand Bahama in The Bahamas. After high school, she got a bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Illinois, Chicago. She worked in the counseling field for a number of years before returning to school to obtain a master's degree in Human Resources Development & Administration.

During her time working as an organization development consultant, she wrote her first book focused on a 'new consciousness' model for businesses exhorting executives to find a way to make business goals and employee goals mutually inclusive. She outlined a path for doing that in her book, A Different Path A Different Result. Continuing her advocacy for fairness in the workplace, in recent years she took on a new cause aimed at helping individuals feeling stuck in their careers develop strategies and succeed in ways never dreamed possible. Having experienced success with her strategies, she details these strategies and their successes in her new book, Backseat Driver: Accidentally discovered strategies that got me promoted each time.
