L.P. Fairley

After obtaining a degree in journalism in Canada, L.P. Fairley moved to Barcelona, Spain, with one small bag and plans to stay for six months. More than two decades later, she is still there, living in the hills along the coast. She has become a "new Catalan", absorbing the culture, food and language of her adoptive land. Her first book, Steep Climb to Elsewhere, was inspired by the intriguing history of Spain and Catalonia and tales told about real families. The novel took only eight years of research, writing and revision to complete.

In her spare time, L.P. Fairley works as a medical journalist. And why she decided to never leave Spain is a whole story in itself.
