Yvonne Ruby Hughes

Yvonne Ruby Hughes was born in 1956 in Pontypridd, South Wales, U.K. She was educated at the Pontypridd Grammar School for Girls between 1967 and 1973. She went on to train as a primary school teacher at Bangor Normal College, North Wales where she studied Drama and Creative and Expressive Arts.

Throughout the 25 years to follow, Yvonne followed her full time profession whilst being married and raising two sons.

In 2002, Yvonne left teaching and studied horticulture for three years. Her newly found gardening hobby developed into a deep passion and her natural talent for creativity could now be expressed in living forms.

In 2008, Yvonne began to express this love of nature in written forms: through poetry and stories for both children and adults.

Yvonne has a desire to share her knowledge and appreciation of the natural world. She also acknowledges the spiritual aspect of life and her work often reflects the paranormal. She emphasises the seamlessness between the natural and supernatural.

Just as in the twists and turns of life, Yvonne likes to weave her plots and a story's ending is not easily predicted.
