I'm a nearly-retired Maryland attorney turned fiction writer, mostly dabbling in detective/crime/mystery as well as gently dark comedy. My first novel, The Case files of Roderick Misely, Consultant, featuring a wannabe lawyer anti-hero, was published in 2013. Clonk!, published by Apprentice House Press in May, 2023, and Sunscreen Shower, published by Flock Publishing in October, 2024, are part of my ongoing Detective Kev Dixit series. Both were finalists in the Chanticleer International Book Awards in the Mark Twain Humor and Satire category. Sunscreen Shower was also a Bronze Award winner for the 2024 Wishing Shelf Book Awards for adult fiction. The Big Comb Over, a modern comedy of manners about a Baltimore family participating in a British royal wedding, was a finalist in the 2023 Wishing Shelf Book Awards for adult fiction. My latest represents a change of pace. A Most Unlikely Man: A Tale of Resistance, is a historical fiction novella about prisoners in a Nazi concentration camp who band together to reclaim their dignity, identity and hope in the face of brutal dehumanization.
