Philippa Sklaar

I grew up in Johannesburg and later ran successful catering companies and cooking schools in South Africa and Los Angeles. Over the years, I have cooked for dignitaries including Nelson Mandela and Desmond Tutu, and Elizabeth Taylor was my very first client in Los Angeles.

I owned a cookie company whose products were sold in gourmet supermarkets across California, New York, and Arizona. I am the author of Hot Cuisine and Cooking and Kvetching, and co-author of When Loving Him Hurts and The Affair. I have also appeared on Guy’s Grocery Games with Guy Fieri.

I now divide my time between Toronto and Florida, where I continue to cook for family and friends.
