Konrad McKane

The story of Alkaya began for Konrad when he was 12. It started as a graphic novel Konrad wrote and illustrated the prologue to his story. When he was 16 he was diagnosed with bipolar mania and schizo affective disorder. A manic episode or Kundalini awakening triggered his imagination to develop this story and the cast of characters. Tapping into another world where no one else could follow, it's as if he's channeling these beings through time and space telling the tale in their own words. Struggling to regain balance in his personal life and mental health its no wonders that achieving balance in all aspects of life and the elements is one of the major themes of the chronicles of Alkaya. With seven ambitious books planned in this epic saga crossing the multiverse through space and time we follow our heroes on a journey to restore their flawed utopia. Konrad was born in Torrance Los Angeles and moved up to a 20 acre cattle ranch in southern Oregon when his parents divorced when he was six years old. Growing up in the pacific north west was inspirational to Konrad. It was like growing up in an epic video game. His mother remarried when he was 8 to an abusive step father that triggered his epigenetic disorder. He often retreated into nature and his own fantasy realm to escape the violence and the beatings. He fell in love with larping and creating his own outfits and weapons and cosplaying at an early age. He has developed a larping game based on his story and also a tarot card game that uses his famous enchanted map that he uses for readings. He started off as a rogue assassin but discovered magick in his 20s in Orlando and became the west side wizard aka GLAMANCER. GLAMANCER is the title of his glam rock opera based on his story. They have three concept albums that all tell the story. The music is ahead of the books though they're on book four in the story line while Konrad is almost finished with the sequel Alkaya: The rysyng tyde. He may beef up the word count for book one and rerelease it with extra pictures if he can ever land an agent that believes in him. He self published his first book in 2011 and is waiting till he gets a book deal to publish the sequels. The chronicles of Alkaya include black and white illustrations that are designed to be colored with color pencils. Eventually he wants to market it with a prisma color set. Konrad McKane resides in Portland Oregon where he enjoys light saber dueling on tuesday nights at rainbow city and singing karaoke at the alibi regularly. Being mentally disabled he's retired from conventional work and supplements his income with book and music sales. Hes also a busketeer he enjoys busking around downtown and Saturday market.
