Mike Amos-Simpson began his career supporting young people on social housing estates before working with young offenders and young carers. His passion for helping disengaged young people led him to develop a national training programme that empowered young people in deprived areas across the UK — a project recognised by the Deputy Prime Minister and featured in the national press.
He has delivered training to youth workers and teachers across the UK, Ireland, and Europe, and has led expeditions to Tanzania and Malawi, where young people from his programmes worked with local children and orphans.
Building on his experience, Mike founded stories4schools with support from the Royal Society of Arts, helping UK schools create illustrated storybooks for children in countries where English is a second language. Thousands of these books have been shared with schools and children’s projects around the world.
His books on punctuation, reading, and writing are inspired by decades of hands-on experience, offering creative and practical ways to help children develop their English literacy skills.
