Fred Gamble

Fred Gamble is a Christian author, minister, husband, father, and storyteller whose writing combines faith, imagination, action, adventure, and the realities of spiritual warfare.

His journey as a writer began in high school in 1987, when a creative-writing assignment became the inspiration for The Christmas Something-Or-Other. What began as a story written by a teenager would eventually become a children's book created to share the meaning of Christmas with his family and future generations.

That desire to tell imaginative stories with a greater purpose continued to grow.

Fred's books span children's literature, science-fantasy, and Biblical epic fantasy, but they share a common foundation: God is real, His Word is true, and faith matters—especially when darkness seems strongest.

His Crown of Creation series grew from an idea he began developing in 1989 into a Biblical epic fantasy action-adventure. Fred describes his approach as “Biblically Basing” his stories—building fictional worlds and conflicts around Biblical truths, Scripture, and carefully placed Biblical Easter eggs. His hope is that readers will enjoy the adventure, but also find themselves putting down his books and picking up the Bible to discover the truth behind what they have read.

That same foundation carries into The Black Storm, where science-fantasy, spiritual warfare, extraordinary worlds, and epic battles explore questions of faith, justice, sacrifice, darkness, and the purpose God places within us.

Representation is also important to Fred's storytelling. Growing up, he rarely saw people who looked like him standing at the center of the great fantasy and action-adventure stories he loved. His writing intentionally places Black characters and families in roles too often absent from epic fantasy and science-fiction—not simply as supporting characters, but as heroes, warriors, fathers, children, and people of faith.

For Fred, however, storytelling has never been only about entertainment.

As a licensed minister active in his church and community, he sees writing as another opportunity to preach, teach, encourage, and share the redeeming love of God. Whether the reader is following an epic battle across worlds or sitting beside a seven-year-old boy on an unforgettable Christmas Eve, Fred wants the story to point beyond itself.

His prayer is that his books entertain readers, strengthen families, encourage faith, inspire someone to open the Holy Bible, and remind us that regardless of our differences, we are one human race called to love one another according to the Word of God.

Because our fight for tomorrow starts with us changing today.
