Shelley Kirilenko

Shelley Kirilenko writes both fiction and non-fiction. She has been selected to study in the cutting-edge MA Creative Writing (Novels) program at City University London, in the Crime Thriller department. Under the tutelage of award-winning UK crime thriller writers, she's working on her Jan McCann mystery series. Her memoir on infertility, The Blue Kimono, came out in November 2007 and her short story collection, Evening in Missoula, was published in July 2009. In 2013, two of her works came out both in paper form and as an e-book: a mystery novel (A.B.D.) and a non-fiction book on Jewish holidays (My Year as a Jew). She is currently working on a Jan McCann mystery novel, with the working title The Meeting.

Shelley hails from Missoula, Montana, where there are more cows per capita than people. She studied fin de siecle Austrian literature in Vienna and received a Ph.D. in German literature from the University of Pennsylvania in 1995.

Shelley lives in London with her husband Andrei, her son Luke, and a rambunctious cat. She's partial to reading, traveling, ballroom dancing, running marathons, and watching her son's soccer games.
