Robyn Dansereau publishes under her maiden name Robyn Tocker and is a Saskatchewan-based author. She grew up on the prairies with her parents and began writing creatively at age 12. In grade six, she came up with the idea for a series taking place after happily ever after. She wanted to know where all her favourite fairy tale characters ended up and decided to tell the story herself, but from the perspective of the fairy tale characters' children.
"In A Cottage We Once Knew" was published in 2012 and tells the story of Snow White's twins set in 15th century Germany. Her second book, "Don't Go Swiftly, Darling", was released in 2015, taking place in 13th century Spain from the perspective of Cinderella's eldest children. "What We Didn't Say" is set after the French Revolution and follows Beauty and the Beast's children (published October 2020). Her latest book came out November 15, 2024 and is called "Into the Forest Deep," following Hansel and Gretel's children in Hungary.
