Deborah DeShields

Deborah DeShields grew up in Northwest Arkansas and is the founder of a successful non-profit organization that has been in existence in the area for over 40 years. Deborah retired from Sharing & Caring after 18 years of service providing Christmas and basic living needs to under-privileged children. As a recipient of numerous awards for her philanthropic endeavors, she was awarded a Real Heroes medal presented by Former First Lady, Barbara Bush, in a ceremony in Washington, DC. She is the author of numerous children's short stories, and young-adult and adult fiction novels. She is also a playwright with two stage play productions in community theatre in her portfolio.
