Marcie Eanes is an independent journalist/poet who reinvented herself after near-fatal car accident tragically cut short her career as a newspaper reporter at age 23. She survived the deaths of both parents and youngest brother all before the age 33.
Raised in Racine, WI, she moved to Los Angeles, CA and did volunteer work at a catholic grade school in Hawthorne, CA. Marcie was introduced to poetry by a friend as a way to cope with the tremendous grief of losing so many loved ones. Her books, Sensual Sounds, Passion's Zest and Cameo, tell her tale of loss and rediscovery in both poetic and narrative forms.
Today she travels around the country sharing her poetry. Her work has been selected four years in a row for di-verse-city, the official anthology for the Austin (TX) International Poetry Festival(AIPF) Held yearly, AIPF is one of the largest running poetry festivals in the US, attracting people from India, Russia, England and other countries as well as several states.
Marcie lives in Racine again after living 15 years in Los Angeles. She's active with the families of her her two surviving brothers. Her community involvement with area poets have brought great pleasure as well.
