I was born to African-American Muslim converts– an artist and a psychiatrist. They were first introduced to Islam while serving in the Peace Corps in Sierra Leon. They introduced us to the Quran by reciting it in Arabic and English during our five daily prayers. They introduced us to the Bible by sending us to the First Baptist Church of Andalusia. My parents were students of the scholar Imam Warith Deen Mohammed and sent me to his namesake high school where I studied under his best student– Imam Plemon El-Amin of the Atlanta Masjid of Al-Islam.
After high school I studied in Damascus Syria. From there I lived in fourteen countries on five continents where I taught Quran, made a documentary, mentored orphans, organized micro-financing, wrote an Arabic studies book, exported goods to America, performed Hajj, and toured the world's cities and country-sides. I later studied political science at Atlanta Metropolitan College and GA State University.
Let me know what you think about the books,
Bilal Muhammad
