I have loved to write since I knew how. Other than being with family, reading a good book is my favorite past-time. Previously, I have worked as an editor for Gardenia Book Publishing and Talent Magazine. I have also served as reader editor for two publishers and have over 200 tear sheets to my publishing credits including fillers, celebrity interviews, short stories, articles and puzzles in many newspapers and magazines throughout the country including The Ohio Valley Outdoors Magazine, The Wheeling Intelligencer newspaper, Quaker Life Magazine, The Ohio Valley Parent Magazine, The Outdoor Sportsman Magazine, The Mining Gazette newspaper, The Summer Survival Guide for Parents Magazine, The Charlotte Observer newspaper and Ridin' On Motorcycle Magazine. I have done celebrity interviews including Don and Kandi Kinski who star in Whitetail Freaks on PBS’ The Outdoor Channel for Cabellas.
My juvenile short story, How God Makes Music, was chosen for the cover story of the June 2012 issue of Primary Treasure Magazine and my juvenile short story, Temptation at Fashion Station, also made the cover story of the June 2012 issue of Guide Magazine. My story Be Still and Listen was recently chosen by Bread Ministries for their juvenile magazine Bread for God’s Children. My juvenile book, The Snake That Could Bake, placed third in the national juvenile fiction contest, Stepping Stones.
Currently I am writing for many of the Chicken Soup for the Soul books; they are promoting me on their website and in their books as well as arranging interviews for me with radio and television stations as well as magazines and newspapers.
I am currently on national book tour with my illustrator, Brett Meeds, with my juvenile book The Weather by Heather. We soon will begin work on my next 7 books, The Fairyland Adventures, with the first book The Fairyland Pet Show.
I am the Ohio liaison for the National Writer’s Association as well a member of the National Association of Professional Women. I am also a member of many writers associations including the Society of Children’s Books Writers & Illustrators. I am an active board member of Rotary as well as a member of the Chamber of Commerce. I am a librarian and member at Orange Friends Church in Lewis Center, Ohio.
