I am a retired nurse, more than retired mother of seven and humorist speaker. I have always wanted to write a book on humor and my idol was the Humorist Author, Erma Bombeck. This is my introductory book. It does poke fun at the government health care website, but also includes stories of worldwide travel, an almost forty year marriage and a baby boomers interpretation of the X,Y,Z generation. I have a creative side to me, I enjoy charcoal artwork and have dazzled myself with sidewalk chalk. I have been a professional cake decorator, and caterer as well as wedding planner. I find humor in all of life. One of my wedding cakes fell over right before the wedding! I picked it up off the table, wiped off the damaged icing and re-did it with a new design. "Icing covers a multitude of sins," the couple never knew. I want to thread my nursing experience into my writings, I find people remember things if told in a funny way. If I say, "Botox is formaldehyde and now that your lips are the size of lemons, that is your fault, you have embalmed yourself before your time." They will remember, it isn't a cosmetic safe thing to do, it is a toxin. I always taught my children to see life through humor. They haven't bought into my eating custard pie for breakfast and calling it eggs and toast; but really, it's just eggs and flour, maybe a smidgen of sugar!
