Brett Williams

Award winning author, Brett Williams left his career in applied research and engineering to pursue writing, painting and hiking with his dogs (with permission from his cats). "The Father" is his debut novel, and 2014 Global eBook Award winner in New Adult Fiction. For Williams, writing is not about the usual measures of success; it's about the message, and communicating that message to as many as possible. He is passionate about the defense of reason in our age of ever growing unreason, realizing that reason also has limits. "The Father" treats evolution of the human condition in concert with that of modernity. Back-and-forth interactions of individuals and their movements (social, technological, religious) with the larger society and where this leads is of keen interest to Williams. Of keen interest because these interactions determine the trajectory of civilizations. What were inspirational ideals of founding generations also bare seeds of demise in maturity. The outcome of human populations are not rocket science, as humans are much more difficult to predict. "The Father" strives to delineate this future, and the project has been a great source of motivation for the author in his study of ideas on the subject and where we all fit in.
