Dawn Frail helps women become better leaders. She uses workshops, seminars and coaching programs to help women reach their leadership potential and have a more meaningful and satisfying career. Dawn also shows companies how they can stop losing their talented women leaders, and how they can profit from a gender-diverse leadership team. She has written several books on the topic of leadership, has a Masters degree in Leadership, and is the founder of the International Women’s Leadership Project.
Dawn started her leadership career when she was a teenager when she joined the leadership program at the local YMCA. She started a women’s support group on a military base at age 20, and she has been leading volunteers for over thirty years.
As a mother of 4 sons, she is well aware of the trials and tribulations women face in the workforce. Her passion to advocate for women was sparked when she was 8 years old and her grandfather told her she couldn’t unload firewood because she was a girl.
Dawn created her own leadership model as a result of her research into ethics as it relates to leadership. Her research also pointed to what she calls the ‘leadership perfect storm.’ Three powerful forces have come together and have created a demand for a new way of thinking about leadership; gender, generations, and globalization. Eager to find a solution to this 21st century leadership challenge, Dawn felt many organizations were overlooking and undervaluing a large and powerful talent pool: women. Believing strongly that women are uniquely qualified and perfectly positioned to meet the leadership needs of this knowledge-worker age, Dawn began moving in the direction of specializing in developing women leaders.
