I'm Jill Haire- a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, National Certified Counselor, Certified Addictions Professional, former Hospice Grief Counselor and published author. I've been featured as a relationship and addictions expert for several shows on Dish Network television’s Point of View program.
I counseled people in a residential addictions treatment facility and then worked with the terminally ill in a hospice organization. I learned how to confront; I learned how to comfort. I learned to help some people let go and fall into what we call “death.” I learned to counsel others in how to hold on and to build something new, right where they were. I learned to support still others as they made decisions to leave, rather than to run away, from situations that weren’t becoming healthy and probably never would.
Few things bring me greater joy than providing supportive education for individuals, couples and families who seek authentic relationships with God, themselves and others. For ten years I’ve had my own private therapy practice named Free Flow Counseling. Free Flow Consulting has been added to bring forward an audiovisual production of the second edition book. A curriculum is provided for further study and personal growth.
My recently released book, 'Relax on Impact' brings the audience through a difficult journey many of us share. Well-meaning, imperfect parents offer imperfect love. Addictions, power struggles and emotional unavailability build walls meant to protect the child. Over time, adult, intellectual walls also add on, further blocking clear vision, or 'into-me-see.' Each generation seems doomed to teach past mistakes. Marriages built between dis empowered individuals who seek their ‘other half’ create repeated divorces and added pain instead of increased intimacy, love and spiritual clarity. This relationship addiction affects most of us to some degree.
Expressed in parable form, ‘Perfect Cloud’ leaves her Perfect Home. She confuses new, imperfect love from earth parents with the Perfect Love she’s always known. She transforms into simply ‘Cloud.’ Her name continues to change in response to her thoughts, her feelings and then her physical appearance. She eventually becomes the powerful ‘HerACane.’ Her descent into the tornadic winds of addiction and dysfunction, however, leads her form ‘Power Full’ to ’Power Fall.’
The obliteration she has always feared seems to be imminent. However, that final fall leads to a new life. It reveals a brand, new name. Surrender, transformation and empowerment become her final hope for freedom.
‘Relax on Impact’ is designed to entertain, to educate and to inspire. While it won’t replace the commitment of therapy sessions and recovery programs, the book supports Twelve Step Recovery and teaches skills for healthy relationships.
