Virgilio Rojas (b 1957, pob Manila, Philippines) took undergraduate and graduate studies in Economic History at the Department of Economic History at the University of Stockholm in the late 80s--early 90s and between 1998-2004. He was research assistant at the Seminar for Development Studies, Department of Government at the University of Uppsala between 1993-1997. He served as technical editor of the book Democratization in the Third World: Concrete Cases in Comparative and Theoretical Perspective, co- edited by Professors Lars Rudebeck and Olle Törnqvist and published by Macmillan Press Ltd. in London in 1996 & 1998.
He was awarded research grants by the University-stewarded Kinanders Foundation for three consecutive years between 2001-2004 and the Swedish Agency for Research Cooperation (SAREC) in 1998. He taught and supervised undergraduate & monographic courses in "Global Economic History" and "Transnational Organised Crime" at the Department of Economic History, Stockholm University between 1998-2004. Currently, he works for the City Government of Stockholm in the field of Social Psychiatry.
