Born under a rural Alabama sky, the author has come a long way from the dusty dirt roads winding amongst cotton fields. As a boy, James Randall somehow maneuvered his way through a turbulent and violent childhood. He survived, if you can call it surviving, an abusive alcoholic father who later kill himself, while watching his beautiful mother’s life slip into the darkness of mental illness exacerbated by that abuse and her own alcoholism to deaden the pain that ate at her soul.
The author shares life experiences through his writing. An artist as well, he says, “It’s like painting with words.”
