On an Author's Page an author should give some personal details, so: I'm English, born in 1945, Degree in Metallurgy from Sheffield University, several years service in the 13th/18th Royal Hussars, on tanks.
Most of my books are about armoured warfare but, please be warned, they are from a British stand-point and British armoured warfare has a history basically different from that of the US Army. In these books I look at the evolution of manuals (hence training) and AFV design as driven by battlefield experience, and vice-versa. No other author has tried to follow this sequence. My most popular book (in the UK) is 'Cruiser Tank Warfare' which is, to some extent, a doleful account of how apparently sensible people can get things wrong. My 'German AT Warfare' only covers German defence against British, and to a small extent, US tanks.
My other three books, 'War', 'Roman Legionary' and 'Roman Campaigns', are a bit 'niche' and probably of little interest to US readers. They are the result of many years of arguement and thought, driven by my disagreement with what other authors have written.
Writing books is my hobby, I know I'll not get rich on it, so if you have any comments etc please leave a review on Amazon or contact me via the publishers.
