Lynette Rees

Lynette Rees is an author known for her historical sagas which are often compared to the works of Dilly Court and Catherine Cookson. Her stories are set in the mining communities of South Wales or London’s East End during the Victorian era. She focuses on themes of resilience, family, and overcoming adversity, particularly within the context of workhouses and factory life. Lynette’s most recent works published by Boldwood Books are from The Workhouse Series, which includes The Winter Waif, The Workhouse Girl and The Cobbler’s Apprentice. September 2025 saw the release of The Pit Girl - a story of hardship set in Victorian Wales. Her next release will be The Coal Miner's Wife in March 2026 - a tale of one woman's fight for freedom in a man's world.
