Stuart Haywood

I was born in Derbyshire, in the heart of England in 1953. My father was a coal miner, and my mother worked at several jobs to give my brother and myself a wonderful and secure upbringing. My affinity for all things artistic began at a very early age, I was sketching and painting in infants school and found I could get a tune out of most musical instruments by the age of 10.

A vivid imagination, and the aptitude for story telling led me to write my first novel in the nineteen seventies. I wrote several short stories after that, none that were published, as I wrote them for pleasure only. However in 2007 and getting too old for gigging, I decided to rewrite the novel Zoo. Zoo was a concept that had been with me for over thirty years. I am the first to admit that Zoo and Zoo 2 leave a lot to be desired in editing etc. as I was learning the craft and could not afford professionals. Also they are pretty localized, which I have learned is difficult for readers outside the United Kingdom. I am in the process of rewriting them. I have acknowledged the feedback, and my later books do not use local slang etc. I appreciate feedback whether positive or negative, and thank you all for the chance to correct my errors. Contact me on john.s.haywood@sky.com or via my web page. stuarthaywood.com. Your thoughts are always welcome and I will reply to each one. Also. if you contact me direct, I will be happy to send you a epub of any of my books free. Perhaps you could even advise me on the proofing etc. That would be enormously helpful.

I try to write so that the reader can relate and empathize with the characters. They are simple, untwisting plots which I am told flow easily. I sincerely hope you enjoy my work. I thank you for taking the time to read this little insight.
