In January, 1983, God called my wife and me to begin praying toward another Great Awakening in our country (U.S.A.) As of 2023, it has been 40 years of daily couple prayer, supplemented by prayer teams, first in Oregon, then in Virginia. We have seen God move powerfully--eliminating the Rajneeshpuram cult in Oregon, then greatly reducing the murder rate in Richmond, Virginia, all in direct answer to persevering prayer.

In 1987, having shown me what He can do in answer to prayer, God introduced me to a project which has absorbed the later years of my life--researching and writing about His mighty deeds throughout the centuries. My research has uncovered a steady stream of forgotten wonders, which I present in my writings. It is with the greatest pleasure that I present to my readers the majestic presence of Jesus revealed through eye-witness documents supplemented by a recent generation of Revival historians. I want my readers to see the transforming Presence of Jesus in a way that seems to have eluded most Christians of today.
