Starr’s debut mystery 'Dream Time' includes a haunted house, an historical murder, and the discovery of one woman's ancient heritage. It has been described as similar in style to the writings of J.G. Ballard.
Her second novel 'The Secrets of Moorvale Asylum' is a war thriller set in 1948. Magical beings at a London asylum assist a recovering Resistance Fighter who is searching for her lost child.
Sarah Starr lives in Sussex with her husband John, and with him keeps an allotment and 3 hives of honeybees. Her favorite authors range from Charles Dickens and Daphne du Maurier to Toni Morrison, Alice Sebold and Ruth Rendell.
