I have been writing as a hobby since I was in middle school. Currently I work as an Adjunct Psychology Professor and as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor.
In my early 20's I published three psychological murder mysteries: The Killing Game, Speak No Evil, and Dead Scare; however, when I had my first 13 years ago, I decided that murder mysteries just weren't ideal. They made for horrible bedtime stories!
Because of the aforementioned, I ventured into writing for children, first my own, and then as a therapeutic tool for children I conduct therapy with. I have written 2 series for children thus far: Bee-tective Buzzleton is for the slightly older crowd and it still incorporates the mystery and detective-work niche that I started doing as a young adult; albeit, there is an absence of murderous serial killers in them. And the Animal Tales series which is for the slightly younger crowd and incorporates lessons into them that help kids learn about kindness and hope, among other things.
The Buzzleton series utilizes a detective bee that allows kids, and adults, the ability to help solve some insect-related mysteries. The Animal Tales series utilizes various animals to teach children life's lessons.
In the works are two new series for children: Gillbert Finnegan: Sea-tective- a series that follows a fish detective who solves undersea mysteries. And the other is The Adventures of Tease, Tattle, and Bite- a series about the mishaps of three young children who seem to always be getting into trouble.
I will also be publishing some of my older work in the coming months, more of the old psychological murder mysteries that have been tucked away in a box for almost 20 years! Look for Killer Talent, Suicide Notes, and Nursery Crimes to hit Kindle in the near future.
