I served in the United States Air Force for 24 years, retiring as a Master Sergeant with a Master’s Degree in Education. My military service included 14 years overseas and two bases in Southeast Asia and two bases in Europe. After leaving the Air Force, I taught for seven years. I am an avid researcher and re-enactor as well as trying to be a full-time patriot. When not helping veterans and veterans’ families with the Keavy Kentucky chapter of the Disabled American Veterans (D.A.V.), I research and write full time. I’m also a member of the Sons of the American Revolution, the Boone Society, the Kentucky Corps of Longriflemen, Contemporary Longrifle Association and National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association.

I have written since I was in the fourth grade. I think I began writing because I enjoyed reading. I was always grateful that someone had taken the time to write the book I was reading. In 1990, I met Tom Clancy at Potsburg Castle in Germany and thanked him for writing books that I enjoyed.

I found in the United States Air Force that I have a talent for writing. During my 24 year air force career, I was stationed in North Carolina, Texas, North Dakota, Michigan, Ubon Thailand, NKP Thailand, Mildenhall UK, and Ramstein Germany. I had a several temporary duty assignments that took me to a variety of places.

I like writing poetry because more discipline is required and it seems to allow me to approach and comment on subjects I am not yet ready to put into prose.

I have, in the past, started poems that I couldn’t finish. I was always able to come back to them and finish (at one point 31 years later) after life experiences provided the ending.

I have written news articles, magazine articles, internet articles, poems and books.

I decided to publish because I didn’t want the products dying on a computer hard drive.

“Out of the Jungle” is about a serviceman who experienced events in Vietnam that affected him for the next 25 plus years.

Kentucky memories is a volume of regional poetry about people and circumstances in southeastern Kentucky.

I have usually have 2 or 3 unfinished novels that I am still working to complete.

My books are currently available at Amazon.com.
