Born in Dundee, Scotland during the war (German bomb demolished the tenement opposite). Moved around Britain from ten years of age with father's work. Grammar school, college, university, ending up a child protection social worker for life. Married with three adult sons and a blessing of two grandkids. Moved to Canada in 1973 and currently live close to the US border in British Columbia. Became a writer for Sci-Fi and various motorcycle magazines in Canada, USA, and Britain writing reportage, feature articles, and short fiction with a dabbling in comic scripts and plays. A lifelong biker, I ran the Liverpool 'One-Percenters' in the mid-sixties and currently the 'Laughing Indian Riders' club. I build, restore, customise, race, and ride to rallies on old Indian motorcycles. An interest in comics as a kid (Dan Dare, Captain Space Kingley etc) renewed with late sixties undergrounds and when they petered out, switched to DC's Vertigo line and such luminaries as Alan Moore, Neil Gaiman, and Bryan Talbot. Atheist, anarchist, antiquarian, with an interest in pre-history and magic--all of which feature in my tales. I've penned the monthly fiction of 'Back Street Heroes' magazine since the early nineties and currently have five collections of illustrated short stories.
