Mark Siedschlag

Mark Siedschlag was born in Waupun Wisconsin where his family owned a small dairy farm. He paid his way through Ripon College by working several part time jobs in construction and Graduated in 1986 with a degree in biology. After graduating, Mark took his wife and baby daughter to Dardanelle Arkansas where he taught high school biology for eight years, winning a state teacher of the year award in 1993. During his time in Arkansas he also worked part time in the state and federal park system as a naturalist and ranger. In 1996 Mark moved his growing family to the Navajo Indian Reservation in New Mexico. There he taught high school biology and coached baseball for 19 years. He also taught classes part time at a local university. In 1999 Mark made his first trip to Africa, an event that would influence him greatly. He would go on to make several more trips back to the Dark Continent and these adventures would play a major part in his writing. Mark currently lives in the East Mountain area of New Mexico where he now writes full time.
