Regina Anavy

Regina Anavy was born in Minneapolis and received a B.A. in French Literature from the University of California, Berkeley. She is the author of Larry's Letters, The Personal Correspondence of Larry Schlasinger, a true story about a Jewish family in North Dakota. Her book, Out of Cuba, Memoir of a Journey, published by Cognitio Books in 2013, was named one of the 10 best summer reads about Cuba. A Spanish translation, Fuera de Cuba, was released in 2015. In 2017, her translation of Amir Valle's underground bestseller, Havana Babylonia, was released by NeoClub Ediciones.

Anavy's articles and essays have been published in magazines, anthologies, and newspapers.

As part of a worldwide community of volunteer translators for Translating Cuba, Anavy continues to translate works of independent Cuban bloggers and journalists.
