Joe McGowan

Joe McGowan is a music tutor, composer, professional musician and award-winning author of education books, biography, fiction and children's books, including five music books for Hodder Gibson's 'How to Pass' series. His first book, 'How to Pass Standard Grade Music', won the Times Education Supplement Scotland (TESS) and Saltire Society Academic Book of the Year Award in 2005, and three of his subsequent books in that series achieved best-seller status in their category.

He also founded jm-education, a website dedicated to providing free (mainly music) education resources to teachers and students, as well as supplementary material for his music books.

His online tutoring service, yourmusicmentor, offers a range of helpful services from single consultations and lessons to long-term mentoring.
