It almost seemed that even though I was born in the U.S., in school, English always seemed like a foreign language. I always enjoyed writing but not grammar and reading. In fact in school (I am hoping the statutes of limitation have expired) when we had to do book reports on books of our choosing, I would find some obscure book at the downtown library to get the title, author's name, publisher--all the stuff that was required and then make up a book report to go with the title. Never got caught but came close when some of my classmates after listening to one of my bogus reports wanted to go get the book and read it! It taught me a valuable lesson to not make my bogus books sound too good!
