Jürgen Sester

Jürgen Sester, born in 1979 in the small town of Kehl on the Rhine, right on the French border, started writing at a very early age.

Soon short stories turned into longer stories and eventually novels. He published his first novel in 2013, and another 8 novels were to follow until 2021. In the meantime, he made the Black Forest his adopted home, where he also likes to be on the mountain ridges at night and take photos of the starry sky, the Milky Way or other great motifs.

His passion for ships started in 1985 when Robert Ballard discovered the wreck of the Titanic. These images of the wreck at the bottom of the sea awakened in him an unshakeable interest.

In 2004, he was able to marvel at the smaller sister of the S.S. United States, the American Star, also known as America, on Fuerteventura, which had been washed up on the beach there in 1994 after a storm. While researching the ship, he eventually came across the S.S. United States and its incredible story. Even then, he decided to write a novel about this ship. 17 years later, this dream was to come true with "The Final Voyage".
