I worked in law, tax and education for many years, including as a lecturer in a leading English university. I've often been frustrated in the past when I've tried to find simple introductory books on complex topics. I imagine that the same must be true for someone who wants to start learning about law or tax.

That is why I devised the "Really Basic Introductions" series. If you know nothing about the topics covered, then they are a great starting place. They are all written in simple language and use examples to help explain the subject. They are intended to be a first step into the subject, and are a useful starter for people who think they might want to go on to study the subject in more depth, or simply to acquire some basic knowledge and an understanding of the particular topic.
