As a Scientist:
* Holds a doctorate in physics from the University of Texas at Arlington. Taught physics at various institutions the US—most recently, at Taibah University, Madinah, Saudi Arabia.
* Co-authored 17 refereed papers in prestigious journals of “High Energy” and “Positron Surface” physics (1980-1992).
* Authored two introductory physics books: Conceptual Physical Science for Arab Students (2010) and Review Questions for Conceptual Physical Science (2011)
As an Islamic Scholar:
* Authored many original Islamic books in various areas, including fiqh, `aqeedah, manhaj.
* Wrote numerous articles dealing with da`wah and other areas of Islam
* Lectured at numerous conferences and seminars
* Taught a large number of modern and classical treatises
* Chaired al-Qur’an was-Sunnah Society of North America (1991-1997)
* Widely known in the West for his strong support of the Sunnah and the guidance of the Salaf
* Studied (starting from 1983) with senior students of the late Nasir-ud-Deen al-Albani (), and has a strong relationship with most of al-Albani’s senior students from Syria and Jordan
* Acquired a sound acquaintance with al-Albani’s books and recordings through extensive study, indexing, and teaching; this is demonstrated in his writings that bring al-Albani’s works before non-Arab readers
