Doris Schatz Biography

Doris is a native-born Kentuckian who has also lived in Illinois, Michigan, Arizona, Texas, Colorado, and Germany. Doris is a talented musician and singer, touring with a country band for many years in Germany. Although her first love is country, folk and bluegrass, she also enjoys blues, rock music, boogie-woogie, and an occasional evening of opera or classical music.

Even though her day jobs involved secretarial, paralegal, publishing and clerical work, she has always had an interest in what is known as paranormal activities. Her openness to this is a direct result of startling events in her own life which led her to research mediumship, psychic abilities, reincarnation, and out-of-body experiences in particular. Believing this to be connected with DNA, she began researching her ancestry with interesting results. From her teens, she'd absorbed many books connected to medieval life in England and in France. She particularly identified with the reign of the Tudors and wasn't surprised to find that she is a direct descendant of many people in King Henry VIII's court. Past life regression hypnosis provided information about a lifetime in France where she was burned as a heretic with a large group. Her English ancesty provided a surprising link to a family in that group…but it was a link to the persecutors and not to the victim she recalled being. Coincidence or connection?

Doris Schatz's first book, Down the Ages. Journey of a Healer, was co-authored with Gerhard Kluegl, a noted German healer who was the subject of the book. When she met him for the first time in Landshut, Germany, she was mesmerized by his modesty, gentleness, and astounding healing abilities. She'd heard of him through friends and had met one of his former patients at an Easter party. Her own life experiences with ESP, past-life regression hypnosis, and mediumship, however, had not really prepared her for this unusual person.

His first visit to Arizona demonstrated his abilities and unusual talent to Doris' circle of friends and acquaintances. With only word of mouth advertising, he was besieged for healing circles and speaking engagements. He happily demonstrated his unusual abilities at church groups, healing circles, and metaphysical study groups. Doris enlisted the help of Dr. Gary E. Schwartz to research Gerhard's healing abilities in his laboratory and was gratified that Gerhard's abilities were recognized by scientists.

It was during Gerhard's second visit that their research into healing took a side trip involving digital photography and the sudden appearance of orbs and lights in thousands of photographs. Doris is currently at work on a second book about the appearance of these phenomena and psychic explanations. Due to the nature of the photographs, an e-book is planned.

Doris lives in Green Valley, Arizona, with her husband, Franz, who is an avid hiker and bridge player. Doris continues her interest in paranormal study, genealogy, psychic photography, and playing music with her friends.
