Dr. Karen (Kat) Schrier is Full Professor of Games at Marist University and the Director of the Games and Emerging Media Program. Dr. Schrier has over 20 years of experience creating, producing, and designing media, and has previously worked at places like Nickelodeon, BrainPOP, WHO, and Scholastic. She has written or edited over 100 publications, including her books, Knowledge Games (Johns Hopkins University Press) and We the Gamers (Oxford), and her edited series of books, Learning, Education & Games (Carnegie Mellon/ETC Press). Dr. Schrier received her doctorate from Columbia University, master's from MIT and bachelor's from Amherst College.
She lives with her family in the New York metro area and loves gaming, writing, going to craft and art fairs, and exploring cute small towns.
