Neeru Tandon

Dr.Neeru Tandon, M.A., L.L.B. PhD, D.Litt (topper and gold medalist from Kanpur university), obtained her Ph.D. in Indian – English fiction. She is the only professor to have the degree of D. LITT in English from CSJMU,Kanpur, since its inception.

As member, Board of Management in various educational institutes like Pt. Deendayal Public School, Kanpur and VSSD College, Kanpur she contributes a lot in the field of education. MHRD and UGC has appointed her as paper Coordinator for their projects

As Chairperson and Coordinator ELT@I Kanpur Chapter, she has opened first ever chapter of English Language Teacher’s Association Of India(elt@i) in UP. She is an editor, author, critic, feminist, a poet and a social worker too. Dr. Tandon has several publications to her credit that includes 24 books and 98 research papers.

She regularly visits various schools like DPS Kalyanpur, DPS Azad Nagar, Sanatan Dharam Vidyalaya, Virendre Swaroop schools, Deendayal, Jugaldevi Balika Vidyalaya, Seth Anandram Jaipuria school,Chintels and Swaraj India Public school to name a few as Judge and Teacher’s Trainer.

Her area of interest lies mainly in the contemporary fiction: by Indian- English, Afro-American and Canadian women writers. Presently, she is an Associate Professor at the postgraduate department of English, VSSD College, Kanpur. Her post-doctoral research work (D. Litt) is on women studies. Some of her other publications are Margaret Atwood: a Jewel in Canadian Writing, Feminism: a Paradigm Shift, Emily Dickinson: a fresh perspective, Anita Desai and her Fictional World, In Custody: A Critical Appraisal. She has also written books on Tagore’s Muktadhara and M.R.Anand’s Untouchable and has edited books such as Perspective and Challenges in Indian English Drama, Feminine Psyche, Kiran Desai and Her Fictional World ,NTC Companion to UGC,NET,and SLET.etc. A large number of scholarly papers by her have been published in many books, National and International refereed journals and e journals.

She is the paper setter and the course coordinator at IGNOU (M.phil program on gender study)and CSJMU. She takes personality development and English speaking classes for professionals in various institutes.
