Art Petty

Art Petty is a former software industry executive and executive coach for senior managers and emerging leaders worldwide. He led multiple technology firms, guiding Panasonic Point-of-Sale and Firstlogic (now part of SAP) to market leadership.

Over the course of his career, Art has authored more than 2,000 articles on leadership, management, and career development and has written several books, including Practical Lessons in Leadership (with Rich Petro) and Leadership Caffeine: Ideas to Energize Your Professional Development.

Art writes the Management Excellence/Leadership Caffeine blog, served as a Leadership and Management Expert at The Balance, and was a featured writer at SmartBrief on Leadership.

Art spent 10 years as a Graduate Management Educator at DePaul University and taught management courses at Illinois Tech, the University of Wisconsin–Green Bay, and McHenry County College.

Art is a lifelong Chicago-area native and now lives on a lake in northeastern Wisconsin with his wife (a high school sweetheart) and many visitors in the warmer months.
