Michael B Fletcher lives in the beautiful island state of Tasmania in Australia. There he finds plenty of inspiration for his writing, as Tasmania has many writing-related events and is noted for its splendid scenery and unusual animals.
Michael has always been interested in writing, with a bent towards fantasy and has employed his talents in oral story telling as well as focussing on short stories in a range of genres.
He began writing more seriously in 2005 by commencing an adult fantasy series, joining the Tasmanian Writers’ Centre and completing a certificate in professional writing and editing to add to his Bachelor of Science degree. He is involved with a long-running writers group and has been represented in several writing-related events.
IFWG Australia recently released 'Kings of Under-Castle', an anthology of 15 humorous stories featuring Pickel and Weasle, two rogues who live in the drainage system beneath the King’s castle.
'Masters of Scent', the first book of a fantasy trilogy using scent as a magical tool and a weapon was short listed as a draft in the Australian 2010 Olvar Wood awards. The next book of the trilogy, 'Tumblers of Rolan', is in its second draft.
'Mont of Siroc', a jointly authored 70,000 word children’s fantasy novel is nearing completion.
A number of short stories in a number of genres have been published, including in anthologies such as Anthology of Ichor, Unearthed Press 2011; Conquest through Determination, Pill Hill Press 2012; SQ Magazine Anthology 2013
