Cheikh Lo

Cheikh Lo originates from a small town called Taif, in Senegal, West Africa. He currently lives in New York City since 2008. He has written several books, both fiction and nonfiction.

I never dreamed of becoming a writer at any point: day or night. Neither did I envision myself amidst the serene night, penning a book in my brief and constrained life to light up the midnight. However, life is a journey with unpredictable destinations just as thunder lights. I encountered numerous challenges and traversed through many dark nights and I came to a realization - whenever I engaged in writing, I found solace and experienced contentment, allowing me to live joyfully and with a serene mind for days and nights. This realization sparked a question within me: Why not endeavor to write a book for the sake of light? Initially, it was merely one book, but soon, it blossomed into multiple books to help those who engage in nocturnal escapades to the light.
