Murigi Wainaina

Murigi Wainaina was born in Molo, Kenya, in the Rift Valley region to parents who moved to the area from the Central Region of Kenya at the height of the country's agitation for self-rule. He grew up in the farms where his parents worked as labourers. This life and the happenings in the early years of Kenya's independence and later political developments in the country has influence in his writings. Murigi works as an anaesthetist and lives in Nakuru County, Kenya, with his wife and children. His debut novel is 'The Virgin of Kivaled'.
