Florian Dedio, was born in 1981. When he was 16 years old, he decided to become a filmmaker - and convinced his high school to support him. Within a year, he created his first feature film "Luckily For Me" as part of a film class he was allowed to teach. The film went on to win an award for violence prevention.
After graduating from high school, he studied screenwriting at Vancouver Film School. Afterwards, he worked as author, director and producer on numerous independent film projects in both Canada and Germany.
Since 2004, he has been working for LOOKSfilm in Germany, both as head of development, and as resident author and director. Most of his projects deal with history - from the Roman Empire to the Cold War.
Florian Dedio is the creative producer of the series "The Great War Diaries" (also known as "14 - Diaries of the Great War). The idea for book of the same name - his first published work of literature - came about during the research of the series.
