John Stringer

John Stringer is the author of primary school science and technology books for the UK and abroad. He was a team author of Ginn and Star Science, and Series Editor of the Explore Science books for the UK and the International market, as well as numerous other series and individual titles. John advised on over two hundred schools programmes for the BBC and independent television; on CD-ROM, websites and other educational resources. He was a freelance journalist for Times newspapers and other independent publishers.

In his teaching career, John was a classroom teacher, a deputy and a head teacher, and twice an advisory teacher. He has been a primary school governor and chair of governors, a schools inspector and primary adviser to CLEAPSS, the science safety organisation for England and Wales. He is director of education for the innovative 'Future is Wild' project.
