Sandy Lynn Riefberg

Sandy Lynn Riefberg (Waifette) is an award winning American poet, photographer, and author. She was born and raised in Rockland County, NY, and now resides on Long Island, NY with her love Tom, their two cats, Boo and Binx, and one Chihuahua, Ashes.

She earned her bachelor's degree in Philosophy and Religion from Dominican college in 2007, and was classically trained in piano starting at the age of 5. She enjoys cigarettes, ballet, photography, vintage typewriters/record players/cameras, the color black, and growly dubstep.

Sandy released her debut novel, Cigarettiquette! A Smoker's Manifesto! on January 24, 2014. Cigarettiquette! is a full length study of the joy of cigarette smoking, self-published with CreateSpace.

She is also proud to announce the release of Poette, her debut full length work of poetry, on September 8th, 2014. Poette is published by Local Gems Press, based in Long Island, NY.

Be on the lookout for her third publication, 30, honerable mention winner of the Local Gem's Poem-A-Day competition held in April of 2014. Publication date TBD.

She is a contributing poet to Bards Annual 2014: The Annual Publication Of The Bards Initiative, and was awarded the 2014 Up And Coming Poet award on the Behalf of the Bards initiative, a Long Island poetry collective.

Writing since she taught herself to read at the age of four, Sandy has always been a creative soul. Her greatest joy is to express herself through art, and to share it with the world. She believes that all one can ever be is what they will leave behind when they're gone. Her writing is a portion of her contribution to posterity.
