Brian Guest

Brian is an experienced executive coach and a writer for leaders. He is a former international CEO with experience in the Americas, Asia and the UK. He works mostly with senior leaders and high potential managers in large multinationals.

He challenges his readers and coachees to envisage better options for developing themselves and for overcoming self imposed, and often newly perceived, obstacles to their success. He supports them by leveraging his own in depth leadership experience in complex international organizations and through a significant number of solutions and tools he has integrated into his coaching practice. His style has been described as challenging, inspiring and versatile.

In the last 10 years, he has coached executives and senior managers of 28 different nationalities across 6 continents and several major sectors (including banking, insurance, chemical, telecommunications, automotive, pharma, retail and distribution).

A former CEO, COO and FD of overseas insurance subsidiaries of large global groups, Brian has broad business acumen and extensive hands-on leadership and change management experience at country, regional and global head office levels. He has worked in over 20 countries and spent over 14 years of his career living in Brazil and Hong Kong. He was accountable as CEO for businesses up to US$500mn in turnover (Brazil) and 1,500 staff (Brazil) and as a Latin America regional executive for businesses with twice these metrics. He frequently coaches executives with billion dollar budgets.

As a CEO and regional executive he held responsibility for businesses in Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau, Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Colombia, Ecuador and Uruguay

His expertise includes behavior change, preparing executives for the next leadership level, on-boarding, performance management, communication and influencing skills, relationship and conflict transformation, change management, time and energy management, motivating others, cross-cultural challenges, strategic thinking and career planning and development.

He qualified as a UK Chartered accountant in the eighties and holds an undergraduate degree in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge (UK). He is a Certified Professional Coach from the College of Executive Coaching, California, and an executive coach and associate with the Center for Creative Leadership, Leadership Choices of Frankfurt and Cambria Consulting of Boston.
