Vanda M Denton is the author of complex, thought-provoking novels spanning genres from science fiction and fantasy, through speculative fiction to literary fiction

She was born in historic, rural Essex in 1953 to a Polish WW2 hero and English mother. She has been married to Tom for thirty-five years and has two grown and flown children.

Growing awareness of the pain of war along with the invasion and occupation of her father’s homeland cultivated interests in human survival and inequity. This desire to see justice done is reflected in all her work.

Vanda began writing when her two favourite TV shows, Star Trek and Stargate, came to an end. Her first work, a science fiction novel, developed into the start of the fifteen-volume Vinctalin Legacy series. With the writing bug biting hard her penchant for following and then speculating on modern scientific developments became the basis of her next works.

Vanda draws on knowledge gained through two degrees covering education, psychology, social sciences, philosophy and arts. This formal education fires her ongoing interests in psycho-social themes as well as modern biological and scientific developments. She often recounts a phrase expressed by her sister long before attending university: You think too much. That is a state of mind she clearly enjoys sharing with her readers.
