Melissa Koons

Melissa has written and published novels, short stories, and poetry. She likes to write historical fiction, horror, urban fantasy, and romance. A former teacher and private tutor, she also writes workbooks crafted to help students grades 8 to adult learners understand how to write various types of essays in her "Master the Essay" series.

Together with her business partner Thomas A. Fowler and their company Spine Press + Post, she created and released a series of writing prompts called "Porcelain Prompts" designed to help writers (both professional and hobbyists) to develop their craft and have fun doing it.

Melissa likes to write in a variety of genres, and as a freelance writer has had the opportunity to do so. "I Won the Lotto" was one of her first freelance writing projects.

She has a BA in English and Secondary Education from the University of Northern Colorado. A former middle and high school English teacher, she now devotes her career to being a jack of all trades. She works on projects in publishing, editing, writing, grief coaching, relationship coaching, psychic medium tarot readings and more.
