Who is David Arthur Stevenson? You don’t know him. You’ve never heard of him. But if you read him now, you won't ever forget him. If you like the edge of your seat type reading, David Arthur Stevenson is the author for you. But there realistic edge gives them a bite that you cannot let go of. You can't put it down. Even when you know you should.
Becky Christiansen has helped me out with the last two novels. She is a hard working copy editor. She told me if anyone needs her services she can be reached at beckinak@hotmail.com. She has been invaluable to me on the self-publishing end of things. She can help with that final copy editing.

Wild Friendship is an Alaska based action adventure novel. I began working on it before I actually finished with Moss Mat Murders. So it came out quickly. It's a shorter novel. And it is a quick read. I challenge you not to read it in one night. I love a good page turner myself. I hope this meets your expectations.

Here is a sample of MOSS MAT MURDERS:
"Ahead, Kingman saw a woman walking along the road. As he pulled up, he could see that she was exceedingly beautiful. He wanted her instantly, but too, knew he had better be careful and control himself.
“Everything alright?” Kingman asked, as he pulled up alongside her.
“I think my alternator died and my car went dead about a mile back up the road,” she told him.
“I can give you a ride if you need,” Kingman smiled.
“No, I think I’ll be fine, but thank you for stopping,” she said as she walked.
Kingman got out and opened the door for her, “It’s cold out. And I can get you back to that place I saw just a minute ago.”
The woman looked at Kingman’s slight frame, thinking as most do, she could take him easily. She also had her pistol for bears on her side. He looked amicable enough.
“Oh, OK, thank you,” she said. “I’m a little scared out here.”
“Plenty of wildlife out here for sure,” Kingman said as he smiled. “Watch your step getting in.”
As the woman got into the car, Kingman grabbed her arm to help her.
“Thank you, this road is slicker than I thought,” she said gratefully.
In one fluid move, Kingman slid her in the car, then injected her trapezius with enough concoction to make her compliant. Not a problem. Kingman saw her alarm and smiled at her.
“It’ll be alright,” he said with his best bedside manner.
INDIGENOUS by David Arthur Stevenson, 2020, is the second novel that David worked to publish.
This is a mind bending psychological crime type novel. If you can read it without the book challenging you perception of reality you are better than most.
Detective Ron Sayer is an overworking dedicated Fairbanks, Alaska Detective who put it all on the line to capture an evil individual, injuring himself egregiously. While recovering he discovers that he now has abilities that give him an insight into his worst nightmares. The nightmares we all have from childhood, are real. They are indigenous. Of this earth. Detective Sayer’s abilities to see evil and not react to it, give him insight. Ron learns to read into and know what is going on and learn as always to wade into the nightmare chest deep and analyze what he sees. Sayer uses this new horror to capture his nemesis. Someone he doesn’t know. Someone he doesn’t want to know. Someone he must get before he gets got himself, again.
Here is a sample of INDIGENOUS:
Detective Ron Sayer was at the station when he got the word that they had located Bobbie Harmstrom. He grabbed his vest and ran out the door. The patrolmen had watched Harmstrom go into the Safeway supermarket off College Road at the north end of town. Though Fairbanks Alaska was a small city, it was still a five-minute run from the station, and everybody was rolling on it. Everything was being transmitted on the encrypted frequency so that Harmstrom wouldn’t hear their chatter about him over the police radio. Traffic was light since it was 11:30 at night. But as typical in the Alaskan summer it was still daylight. White nights they called it. Yeah, more like never ending dusk. One of the cops saw Harmstrom walking out of the store and broadcast it over the radio. But apparently Harmstrom saw the marked unit and ran to his pickup. The pursuit started within seconds. The officers pulled up and tried to take Harmstrom at gunpoint, but he was too fast and too determined. Harmstrom slammed the pickup in reverse and backed right into the police cars knocking them back along with the two officers. He then pulled forward and opened fire hitting one of the cars in the grill. Sayer listened to the events unfold on the radio as he rounded the corner from the Steese Highway onto College Road and then right into the first entrance for the Safeway parking lot. His car was unmarked, but he knew Harmstrom knew his vehicle.
Harmstrom had led a life on the wrong side of the law. He began as most do in petty crime. But he soon got crazier and crazier. He committed his first shooting at the age of 16 and barely escaped the new law that would have allowed him to be charged as an adult. So, he got out and had gotten smarter. He learned how to beat the system. He knew how to avoid the pitfalls of evidence and how to stay out of jail. And he did that at any cost. He was just plain mean. Pure evil. All the cops knew it. He had killed his ex-girlfriend’s boyfriend and raped her repeatedly over a period of a few days. This is why he was wanted now. He got careless and left a number of witnesses. Including her. He had counted on them being too afraid to testify against him, but he underestimated how sick these people were of his antics. He thought their fear of him would protect him. It didn’t this time. It was too much even for the drug-addicted desperados of Fairbanks, Alaska.
The officers called out the shots fired, and the vehicle was heading south out of the parking lot. Right to Sayer. Sayer was shocked at the speed Harmstrom’s vehicle was carrying out of the parking lot. He put the pickup on two wheels as he headed across the median and east towards the Steese Highway. It was apparent Harmstrom was looking to escape. Sayer knew he had contacts both in North Pole and Fox. Sayer knew he could not let Harmstrom get away. He would kill to avoid capture. There was no doubt about this now. Sayer chased after Harmstrom going the wrong way down College Road. He caught him at the Steese Highway. Harmstrom was smooth in his turn north onto the Steese. He floored it and sped north up the highway into oblivion. Sayer wrapped his car out for all it was worth and…
SURVIVE by David Arthur Stevenson, 2013, is the first novel that David worked to publish.
This is an edge of your seat, action adventure, novel written from an Alaska State Trooper Fish and Wildlife Trooper's perspective.
Trooper Carlisle is living the dream. He always wanted to be a brown shirt, a Fish and Wildlife Trooper in Alaska. Now he is. Now he covers for another Trooper and takes a call that seems harmless at first, routine, something he has done before. Life has a funny way of throwing a test at you that you must pass or you will die. No good deed goes unpunished. SURVIVE is full of twists and turns. Trooper Carlisle will not quit though. He is engrained with that tenacity that he has to pull on. Sticking with it. Not giving up no matter how hard. He has to draw from deep within, that which he has always had, but never knew to what depth and degree he had it. Survive.
SURVIVE was conceived and the first draft written literally in hunting camp in Alaska. David completed the final extended draft, completed the covers and edited the novel. David knows a thing or two about surviving. He survived Alaska.
